He says about them: “In the beginning of the 90’s I was searching for good jazz in Holland. I read about the Houdini’s that they just recorded an album with the legendary jazz producer Rudy van Gelderen. The man with the sound I loved so much. Well, this band blew my mind ! What a power, what an energy, the Houdini’s showed me that jazz was all about fun, this was the live sound I was looking for. These guys were the rock ‘n roll in jazz. “
After doing different projects with these musicians (The Jazzinvaders) it became time to do a cd on Social Beats. They recorded ten heavy hardbop tracks within 4 hours. The same way Rudy van Gelderen did it in the 60’s. And it sounds so real !
Besides these original recordings Phil asked different producers over the world to do remixes of these tracks. We are receiving the first tracks already and it’s gonna be hot.

Solo Moderna is Bas Voorn, a producer who did two very successful 12”s (Mambossa 72 & Ghetto Stomp) on our label with Combo Moderna and delivered us two nice jazzy tracks on the Socialized Jazz Beats compilation. Now he is ready to release his first solo album. His currently musical obsession is searching for all global aspects of music, which includes futuristic jazz and latin, balkan original and freestyle, real boogaloo and some weird cocktailmusic. As a Dutch cut and paste artist he samples the world and blends it with an expressive approach. His unique warm sounding party stomps keep people moving all around the globe with the likes of dj's that matters.
